These Terms govern use of Reel Transcript at https://reeltranscript.app (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Contact: jokimina1@gmail.com.

The Service

Reel Transcript lets you paste a public short-form video URL and, when caption data is publicly available and that platform’s extractor is live, view timestamped text and download SRT or TXT.

Current product reality:

  • YouTube Shorts (and related public YouTube URLs with captions): caption extraction works when public captions exist.
  • Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook: URLs may be accepted, but caption extraction is not live yet. You will see an honest No public captions (or equivalent) response instead of invented text.

We do not download video files, offer MP4 conversion, or run speech-to-text to invent transcripts.

Acceptable use

You agree to:

  • Only submit URLs you are allowed to access (public content).
  • Not use the Service to violate platform terms, copyright, privacy, or applicable law.
  • Not attempt to scrape, overload, or bypass rate limits or security controls.
  • Not misrepresent Reel Transcript output as human-verified legal or medical advice.

Free and paid plans

The free tier provides a limited number of extractions per day (currently 3/day, cookie-tracked) unless we change it. Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Pack) described on /pricing may become available; features and limits on that page control when billing is enabled. We may change pricing with reasonable notice on the site.

No warranties

The Service is provided “as is.” Caption availability depends on third-party platforms. Auto-generated captions may contain errors. We do not warrant uninterrupted access, ranking in search engines, or that every URL will return text.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reel Transcript and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service or reliance on extracted text. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 3 months before the claim (or USD $0 if you used only the free tier).

Intellectual property

Site design, branding, and original copy belong to Reel Transcript. Caption text extracted from a video remains subject to the rights of the original creators and platforms. You are responsible for how you reuse that text.

Third-party services

Hosting (Vercel), DNS/CDN (Cloudflare), and analytics (Microsoft Clarity) are third parties with their own terms. Links to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Facebook do not imply endorsement.

Termination

We may suspend or limit access for abuse, legal risk, or operational reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a new version with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
