TikTok Transcript
A TikTok transcript is timestamped spoken dialogue from any public TikTok clip. Paste a TikTok URL to transcribe the video with Groq Whisper AI into readable text, .srt, or .txt format.
Current status: TikTok caption extraction is not live yet — URLs return No public captions for now. YouTube Shorts work today. TikTok remains a satellite page while Instagram is the head-term focus. TikTok handles captions differently than Instagram. Creator-uploaded captions are common, and TikTok's auto-caption feature generates text for many videos. However, TikTok is a satellite platform for us — tokscript.com specializes in TikTok transcripts, while our focus is Instagram Reels. We include TikTok support for users who work across both platforms, but if you primarily need TikTok transcripts, dedicated tools may better serve you. Our approach is captions-first: we extract existing caption data, we don't transcribe audio, and we never download video files.
How It Will Work
When the TikTok extractor ships, the flow will look like this. Today the same paste box returns No public captions for TikTok:
- Copy the URL — Copy the TikTok video URL from the app (share > copy link) or browser. URLs look like tiktok.com/@username/video/123456789.
- Paste and submit — Paste into the form and submit. We check for available caption data on that specific video.
- Get your transcript — View timestamped text, copy to clipboard, or download as SRT/TXT. Same output options as all our supported platforms.
Planned TikTok Output Formats
When TikTok extraction ships, the output will use the same formats as the working YouTube Shorts path: timestamped text, SRT for video editing, TXT for documentation, and clipboard copy for quick use.
TikTok-Specific Considerations
TikTok extraction is not live yet; public TikTok URLs currently return No public captions. When the extractor ships, caption availability will vary by creator and region: private videos, Lives, and Stories will not have a stable public transcript source.
Cross-Platform Content Work
Many creators post similar content across TikTok and Instagram. When TikTok extraction ships, one paste workflow can reduce context-switching: extract scripts to adapt for Reels, study messaging before cross-posting, and document video content as searchable text.
